FMC Goals
1. Provide witnessing training and resources and stewardship ministries to motivate and inspire sharing.
a. Witnessing Community facilitator training and in-depth implementation at the congregational level.
b. The Seventy in their witness and expertise across the FMC.
c. This goal in focus for the youth.
d. Resource sharing in alignment with mission & wise methodology (e.g., Deerhaven management, assessment methods, balanced giving and God’s call to tithe)
e. Feedback on the ministries made possible by the sharing of congregations through their assessments (e.g., youth camp results, reunion results, FMC staff initiatives).
f. Current World Church/FMC resources made available (e.g., materials and personnel).
2. Provide spiritual formation opportunities and resources.
a. Spiritual growth retreats.
b. Covenant discipleship group training.
c. Vibrant worship models at FMC events.
d. Spiritual formation as a priority in youth and young adult programs.
e. Deerhaven as a center of spiritual formation.
f. Current World Church/FMC resources made available.
3. Facilitate healthy dialogue opportunities and enhance conflict resolution skills that bring healing and reconciliation.
a. Town Hall Meetings and difficult issues dialogue.
b. World Church conflict resolution training in FMC.
c. Opportunities for true reconciliation and healing within congregations.
d. Youth and young adults in this process.
e. FMC Council to facilitate dialogue.
f. Broaden the FMC interfaith and ecumenical involvement in local congregations.
g. Partnership opportunities with organizations providing conflict resolution and reconciliation (e.g., school system mediation programs).
4. Promote and provide forums for learning.
a. FMC Exploration Series
b. Temple School classes.
c. Opportunities to become more scripturally literate.
d. Church school models.
e. Priesthood and Leaders Retreat as a primary learning event.
f. Youth and young adults in this process.
g. Current World Church/FMC resources made available.
5. Bring peace and justice issues into focus for congregations and their actions.
a. Young Peacemakers Clubs throughout FMC (at church and in the community).
b. Youth and young adults in peace and justice learning and activities.
c. Deerhaven as a center for peace (e.g., environmental, non-violence, and art).
d. Programs such as two cents a meal and grant support.
e. Florida Council of Churches activities shared and congregations involved in relevant issues.
f. Environmental justice models and advocates in FMC congregations and households.
g. Congregation activities shared (e.g., web site and newsletters).
h. Current World Church/FMC resources made available.
6. In the spirit of diverse community, explore congregational partnering, promote ministry to families, and help bring a world perspective to members and friends.
a. Discussions about congregational partnering.
b. Aaronic Priesthood and other ministries to families and individuals.
c. WorldService Corps participation.
d. Broader sense of community through area gatherings.
e. Congregation activities shared (e.g., web site and newsletters).
